Blue Bell, PA, October 13, 2004 – In
an era of new age thinking and non-traditional spirituality,
the field of astrology is enjoying a surge in popularity that
many feel is long overdue.
After all, astrologers have been accurately predicting events
– both major and minor – for thousands of years.
World leaders, including many of our own presidents, have
regularly consulted astrologers as a matter of course when
pondering major policy decisions. Yet for centuries, astrologers
have been dismissed as “quacks” and lumped in
the same category as fortune tellers, palm readers and psychics.
Carrie Lever, a local astrologer and contributor to Llewellyn’s
Starview Almanac, has made it her life’s
mission to bring credibility to her profession. An established
teacher, author and lecturer on astrology, Lever gained notice
after she accurately predicted a significant rise in terrorist
activity in 2001.
In addition to teaching astrology at Montgomery County Community
College, Lever regularly conducts workshops and private readings
in her home. But her passion is applying her expertise in
astrology to her interest in world politics, particularly
in forecasting terror timeframes for countries around the
world “ It was the bombing of the USS Cole on October
12, 2000 that alerted me to the potential of applying astrology
in the war on terrorism. My research gave me strong indications
that terror would strike the United States in 2001. I was
so convinced of the validity of the research that I knew I
had to take steps to alert the right people.” Her correspondence
with government officials resulted in her being put on a government
watch list and her website, www.anastrologersperspective.com
is still regularly monitored by numerous government agencies.
The lack of responsiveness from the officials she contacted
does not dissuade her from continuing to monitor future terrorist
activities and other world political events. Her track record
of accurately predicting currents is impressive (see sidebar).
The Llewellyn’s Starview Almanac
is in its second year of publication, and has expanded its
subject matter over the years to include a wide range of topics.
Renowned astrologers provide their views on everything from
homeland security, America’s obesity problem, the world
of entertainment and so forth. Lever’s chapter, “Breaking
Silence,” offers her astrological insight into the world
politic scene, not only the continued threat of terrorism
for America and the rest of the free world, but also commentary
on the unstable political environments of Venezuela, Columbia
and Peru. The book can be purchased at major bookstores throughout
the area.
Carrie Lever has been practicing astrology for over 25 years
and is certified through the National Counsel for GeoCosmic
Research (NCGR). She also holds a masters’ degree in
marriage and family therapy that allows her to offer individuals
personal consultations that combine astrology with a strong
foundation in human and social behavior patterns. She offers
in-person and phone consultations and is available to conduct
workshops for either social groups or organizations. She can
be contacted at www.anastrologersperspective.com.
